Understanding your flood
risk and drainage needs
Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) are required for all major developments and any development located within Flood Zones 2 and 3. MAC can assess the risk of flooding from all sources that may affect your development. MAC are experienced in developing solutions to flood risk issues which may affect your development.
A drainage strategy is an important part of any Flood Risk Assessment. Any development must ensure that it does not increase the risk of flooding to downstream neighbours by increasing the quantity of surface water runoff. New developments should utilise SUDS such as soakaways, swales or detention basins. MAC have worked with many LLFAs and have a good understand of their requirements allowing MAC to develop workable solutions for the developer and the LLFA.
Surface and Foul Water drainage design
FRAs require a drainage design to be undertaken. For full applications this can involve detailed drainage design. MAC can undertake indicative and detailed drainage design in line with current policy utilising the latest software.
